PMRE November 2009 Dear PMRE Colleagues: Fall is here in full color and that means winter is closing in on us. If you stop and listen carefully, you might hear the fluttering of the snowbirds’ wings as they make their annual trip south for the winter. Before the flock departs, let me remind you of a few important things on your to-do list.
· Keep in touch with your state reps to prevent mid-year cuts to schools
· Keep your elected officials aware of our need for a public option
· Visit our website and the NYSUT website while you're away to stay informed
· Most important, enjoy your respite from the chilly northeast.
*As for the rest of us, I hope to see you at the holiday party (details in this and past issues). I hope many of you have gotten a chance to visit our website; Joanne Zukowski would love to hear from you. Your input is respected and appreciated. We'd love to know what you're up to and we'd love to share your stories and photos with your fellow retirees and colleagues through the website and the newsletter. You can send stories, etc. through the internet or snail mail. Whatever works best for you. It's always good to hear from our fellow retirees and learn about their adventures.
I hope to see many of you soon. If you can't make the holiday party, have a Happy Holiday Season and we'll meet up at the May 12th breakfast. In Solidarity,
Andy
